2008: THE YEAR THAT WAS

This is something I do every year, taking some time off and reflect on the year that was, before moving on to greater heights. 2008 was definitely an eventful year for me and here are some of the highlights.

Went for an all-expense-paid-trip with my family to Penang just before the year ended. We stayed in Holiday Inn Beach Resort @ Batu Feringghi and it was all about MAKAN. Grandpa, Grandma, Aunty Diana and Eu-Ston was with us as well. Uncle Ivan, thankz for loaning us the Estima. It was condusive alrite.

This was my belated birthday gift from mommy. Went and watch the musical with Olivia, Melissa and her parents and boy did we all have a good time. The show was intelligently simple, yet spectacular. Had some of the songs stuck in my head for a week.

Send Your Rain, a musical I wrote was staged in front of a live audience. We had 2 successful runs with many people being touched by the story and songs. Thank you Lord for seeing us through.

Wrapped up my internship program and my stinct at the Department of Performance + Media in November with Dama Orchestra. It was such a memorable internship and boy did I learn a lot to be an efficient and effective crew. It was a pleasure to be able to work with Melissa, Mark and Eri as well.

In August, I received an unexpected call from Grand Brilliance to play a minor role in Ampang Medikal which became a supporting role for 2 episodes. Was pretty dissapointed to find out that the episodes that I'm featured in was meant for Season 2 and not for the first season.

Melissa took part in the Short + Sweet Festival held at KLPac in August and I assisted her with rehearsals. Low and behold, her piece entitled I Know Your Handbag Is Fake garnered 3 awards at the festival. Best Playwright Award (Dean Lundquist), Best Director Award and The Audience Choice Award!

Can't believe I'm admitting this but I'm so gonna miss you guyz. In July 2008, March 06' intake wrapped up their year end theatre project with All In The Timing, a collection of 3 short absurdist plays by David Ives.

The cast and crew of Equus which was staged in May @ Sunway University College, Roof top Theatre, directed by Melissa Teoh who looks like one of the students in this picture!

Celebrated Easter in church with two performances, Lazarus! Come Forth and R.I.O.T.
